Full-Time Civil (Structural) Engineer – Graduate
Your new role
R.I Brown are currently seeking expressions of interest for a full time civil (structural) engineer to join a young and exciting design team. The applicant will be of graduate level experience and have some background in the structural and civil design of small to medium rise residential, industrial and commercial construction. The applicant will be highly proficient at structural drafting using AutoCAD 2D and proficient at engineering analytical software such as SpaceGass, STK and WALLAP.
Your Responsibilities;
– Structural design and drafting of small to medium rise residential, industrial and commercial buildings,
– Design and drafting of civil engineering projects ranging from small to medium rise, industrial and commercial projects,
– Liaise and communicate interdependently with all stake holders including architect, builder, contractor, and developer for the duration of the projects life cycle,
– Ensure strict time management of projects to ensure punctual delivery of tasks and design.
What you will need to succeed;
– Experience in designing small to medium rise structures in a range of materials including; timber, steel and reinforced concrete,
– Experience in designing earth retention structures,
– Experience in civil engineering design including storm water management plans and on-site detention systems,
– High proficiency in structural drafting using AutoCAD 2D in a range of different construction types such as; reinforced concrete, timber, and steel (essential)
– Thorough knowledge and interpretation of Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards,
– Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with a specialty in Structural discipline,
– Between 0-3 years local experience in the discipline of structural engineering,
– Ability to communicate efficiently both written and verbally with various stakeholders relating to the project,
– Proficiency with various engineering analysis software such as SpaceGass, STK, and WALLAP.
Full-Time Forensic Engineer – Graduate
Your new role
R.I Brown are currently seeking expressions of interest for a full time forensic engineer (graduate) to join a highly experienced structural forensic investigation team. The applicant will be a expected to assist a senior investigative engineer during site investigations to gather field work data, and collaborate in preparing the investigative engineering report. The applicant will also be required to prepare scope of works reports suitable for tender by contractors.
Your Responsibilities;
– Conduct site inspections with senior forensic engineer to investigate structural building distress, undertaking specific investigatory techniques to gather fieldwork evidence,
– Prepare comprehensive engineering reports identifying likely causation of building distress, extent of distress and suitable rectification methods. The applicant will be required to formulate the investigative reports in consideration of the relevant Australian Standards, Building Codes and Regulations,
– Communicate with all stakeholders including the client, builders, lawyers, consultants, and contractors for the full duration of the project.
What you will need to succeed;
– Through knowledge and interpretation of Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards,
– Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Forensic Engineering,
– Between 0-3 years local experience in the discipline of investigatory engineering,
– Ability to communicate efficiently both written and verbally with various stakeholders relating to the project,
– Proficiency with IT and word processing software such as Microsoft Word,
– High proficiency in constructing engineering reports.
